Programme Overview

Our Esports Programme combines structured competitive gaming with digital skills development. Students learn teamwork, communication, strategy, and creative problem solving in a safe, supervised learning environment. The programme introduces young people to both esports competition and game design, helping them understand how games work and how strategies are developed.

WHY ESPORTS AT LINFORD DIGITAL ACADEMY

Esports can be a powerful educational tool when delivered in a structured learning environment. Our programme helps students develop important 21st‑century skills including:

SAFE AND SUPERVISED LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

All sessions are instructor‑supervised and delivered within a secure digital environment. Students use private academy game servers and follow clear guidelines around respectful behaviour, teamwork, and responsible technology use. For our Esports Programme we carefully select games that are suitable for younger learners. The games used in our sessions are chosen based on recognised PEGI age ratings, and wherever possible we use titles rated PEGI 3, which are considered appropriate for all age groups.

This ensures that the games included in our programme are non-violent, age-appropriate, and suitable for a primary school learning environment. By selecting games within this rating category, we can focus on activities that promote teamwork, strategic thinking, creativity, and collaboration, while maintaining a safe and positive experience for all students.

BENEFITS FOR STUDENTS

Students participating in the programme develop:

PROGRESSION PATHWAYS

The Esports Programme connects with other Linford Digital Academy courses including robotics, coding, computer science, and digital engineering projects. Students can progress from playing games to designing and building their own technology solutions.
